In
the June issue:
AND THE SPIRIT MOVES: The June issue of The
Lutheran focuses on the Spirit. Articles include: "Breath
of life," the Spirit blows through Scripture and into our
lives; "God's descending Spirit," when it captures us
we are surprised, overtaken and overwhelmed; and "Spiritual
gifts and the Giver," discovering our gifts helps us learn
that God really knows who we are. A study guide is available at
www.thelutheran.org/study.
STAY CURRENT: For a Lutheran view of the stories that are
in the headlines or that look at the latest trends, check out
"Currents" in The Lutheran. Topics in the June issue
include: Body of missing N.D. student is found; the Lutheran World
Federation aids Rwanda; Lutherans continue to help clean up after
California wildfires; Lutheran seminary professor speaks out on
God and religion in pop culture; and U.S. public moves to more
family-friendly movies.
STUDY TIME: In addition to the theme, "Breath of life,"
the Spirit blows through Scripture and into our lives, study guides
are available for the following articles in The Lutheran's June
issue at www.thelutheran.org/study: "Our problem with Jesus'
parables," we think we know what they mean; and "Perspective:
Worship projections," be wise when using technology in worship.
DISCUSSION BOARDS: Go online to discuss articles in The
Lutheran with authors or experts (www.thelutheran.org and click

our problem with parables; Sunday school superintendent Joyce
Pauly, June 15-22, on getting youth involved in church; and evangelism
