Panel III  Jesus, the Son of God

In the midst of this window, and in the midst of Time and History, between the two extremes of eternity, appears the meek and lowly, yet active and infinitely majestic form of Our Savior; as "the High and Holy One of Israel," yet God in His greatest humility. He is portrayed standing at the celebration of passover of the Old Testament, just before his betrayal, and instituting out of the elements of "unleavened bread" and the "cup of blessing," the marvelous New Testament Supper; as the means of imparting His own life to each and every "member" of His mystical "body," the Church; and his own purity (so as to take our sins away) with His own precious "blood."

Christian art has used the right hand of the Savior to express Christian faith. It depicts two of the fingers bent downward to indicate the humble two-fold union of the Divine and the human natures in Christ Jesus; while the other three, held upright and parallel, express the idea of the Holy Trinity of God.

Upon the institution of the Holy Supper is based the the entire union between the Grace of the Savior and the soul of each saved believer; and it is the precious sequel of many things that preceded, in prophecy, in the moral law and in the forms and rules of worship. In Christ the Great Teacher standing before us, holding the bread close to His heart of love, we have the embodiment of Life, of Truth, and of the Way to Salvation forever. In the holy "Grail," or cup as He ordained is the eternal happiness due to the cleansing us from all sin.
